Family finds the space they crave in Cheshire

After a two-year search for a new home, the Stokes family have found the room they need to grow at Garden View near Nantwich.

The family of five have moved into a brand new four-bedroom detached home at the Archway Homes development in Willaston from nearby Stapley.

“We were living in a four-bedroom house but wanted more space inside and out. One of the bedrooms was a bit small in the old house and we wanted a bigger garden where the children could play,” mum Dawn recalled.

“We’d been looking for quite a while when we stumbled across Archway Homes. I’d been checking Rightmove almost every day for about two years!”

The family have lived in pre-owned and new-build homes previously and almost bought from a larger developer before they discovered that family run Archway Homes were building in the neighbourhood.

“My husband was keen for a new build and if it was just the two of us, we would have gone for something more rural but the children have friends who live locally so this was a good compromise that fitted everything,” Dawn added.

“A big garden is almost unheard of with a new house, but our garden is a good size. We have rural views in certain directions and it’s an intimate development not a massive estate.”

Dawn, who lives with her husband and three children Thomas, 14, Ben, 11, and Ella, six, said:  “The main appeal of a new build is that everything is new with the peace of mind of warranties whereas if you bought a second hand home the boiler could breakdown after you move and you’d have to have pay to have it repaired or replaced. With a brand-new home there’s no hidden extra costs.”

The family enjoyed being able to choose from Archway’s superior specification to customise their home prior to moving in.

“It was really nice to be able to choose everything we wanted. Our last home had been lived in by someone else and while we were happy with the layout when we moved in it took time to get the décor how we wanted it. This time we only had to worry about adding things like curtains and cushions,” Dawn said.

“The Archway Homes standard specification featured pretty much everything we wanted including granite kitchen tops and spotlights, which were upgrades with other housebuilders we considered. We weren’t sure about where to have the fitted wardrobes and rather than rush to choose we were able to put the cost towards flooring instead. I absolutely love our new home – it’s wonderful. A lot of people have commented on how good the finish is.”

She added: “We’d definitely recommend Archway Homes. Everyone is very friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. They were able to be flexible and make adaptations to suit our family without a problem..”

The final home at Garden View has now been sold, but Archway Homes has plans for new developments in sought-after locations across Cheshire.
